REPALEAC will present their 2026-2030 strategy that aims to secure the rights of Indigenous Peoples and local communities to lands, participate in decision-making processes, and improve access to finances: all of this rooted in dignity, justice, and self-determination. We will discuss the implementation of the Brazzaville Declaration, and the importance of investing in livelihoods and community enterprises for a Congo Basin where rights are recognized, livelihood enterprises are support, and community-led conservation is promoted as the path for reducing deforestation and conserving nature. This event will have participation from rightsholders, Indigenous and local community leaders, government officials, allies, and donors. Participants will share impacts and lessons learned from advocacy to influence reforms processes and project implementation.
